Global warming update

The National Climactic Data Center has reported that we just experienced the warmest April on record.  Of the 48 contiguous states, no state reported being colder than average.

This, of course, suggests that global warming has indeed taken hold of our world.

Before we jump to this conclusion, however, we need to remember that weather records have only been kept since 1895.  A mere hundred years could be too small of a sample if weather patterns on this earth run in much larger cycles.  Just suppose weather patterns run in cycles of 500, 1000 or 5000 years.  In that case, we wouldn't have reliable data to draw conclusions.

In short, I do think our pollution contributes to warming, but I'm not convinced that we aren't in a larger weather cycle that was set to warm the planet anyway.
