1 in 300 Americans is a terrorist
A post on Boing Boing earlier this month talks about how over 900,000 Americans are now on the terrorist watch list.
It goes on to quote the ACLU that at this rate, the list will reach over 1 million as early as July of this year.
You do the math. 1 million people on the list, 300 million Americans.
I hope the absurdity strikes you.
It simply cannot be possible that that many Americans are involved in suspicious activity.
We live in an age of hyper-paranoia and many of my fellow citizens have lost their senses in their unreasonable fear of terrorists.
In reality, there are more likely to be struck by lightning or attacked by a shark than a victim of a terrorist attack.
I am not afraid of terrorists.
I believe the number of true terrorists in this world is very small.
I believe that by perpetuating a state of fear and by robbing us of our personal rights, our own government is terrorizing us.
You can only check this if you stop being so afraid.
