Whatever you do this weekend, please make time to watch America: Freedom to Fascism.
It is free on Google Video, and it could be the most important, life-changing two hours you spend this year.
Aaron Russo is a noted film producer of mainstream hits such as Trading Places. He started the film as an inquiry into the federal income tax.
One question serves as his motivation: where is the law that requires Americans to pay federal income taxes?
Not only does he find his answer, but he uncovers information much deeper, much more sinister, and much more unpleasant.
This is no Hollywood thriller, and this is NO wacky conspiracy theory. This is conspiracy fact, based on solid evidence: Supreme Court decisions, government documents, interviews with prominent people and experts.
What he found includes the following:
—There is no law that compels Americans to pay federal income taxes.
—The very notion of an unapportioned income tax is illegal and unconstitutioinal.
—The Supreme Court has decided twice that the 16th Amendment does not create a new form of taxation aside from the two types that are already provided for in the Constitution.
—The 16th Amendment was not properly ratified by the states, making the IRS and its activities completely illegitimate.
—Our income tax dollars are not used to run the government. They are used solely to pay the interest accrued from borrowing money from the Federal Reserve Bank.
—The Federal Reserve Bank is not a governmental body, but a private institution owned my major international banks.
